Reading the site

The site has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and to protect the site from attacks. Photos are served by Sanity, the service that stores our articles, so your browser also connects to Sanity’s servers when it loads them.

Submitting articles

When you use the submission form, we keep what you send (the title, text, suggested section, your note and the time it arrived) and your email address only if you choose to give it. Only the editors can read submissions. We don’t store your IP address with your submission.

To stop spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you’re a person, not a bot. To do this, Turnstile processes information about your browser and device. The form also briefly uses your IP address to limit how many submissions can be sent in a minute; it isn’t stored.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete information we hold about you, such as a submission you sent with your email address.
